SHAINNA NELSON

Girl Stuff Racing Races into Summer 2010

Welcome Race Fans!!!
Well, this season has had some pretty memorable moments . Last week found us in Joliet, Illinois on Friday for the NHRA National Drag Racing Event. Saturday found us at Martin, Michigan For the Lane Bracket Racing Series event. We rubbed shoulder with a lot of top name pros and had lots of fun. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and rain spoiled our chances of bringing home a win. We made it to the semi finals when the rain decided to end the event. We had only 2 more cars left before the finish.

Shainna did move from 3rd place into 2nd place in points for the year. She also has been offered a chance to drive a Mustang owned by Len Reid. Shainna drove it for a test just to get the feel of it. This car runs about 12 second quarter miles at over 110 mph. Could be a good opportunity. We will see how this pans out. I'll include some pics.

This week on Friday was the crew chiefs 47th birthday. I planned on taking the weekend off but Shainna changed my mind at 10:30PM Saturday night, so we headed to Osceola, Indiana at 6:00AM. It turns out she was determined to give me a birthday present. With some of the best reaction times I have ever seen from Shainna, ( .003 seconds & .004 seconds for example) she qualified #1. And a final run which was right on the dial in of 8.10 seconds, Girl Stuff Racing brought home the trophy and the win. How cool is that!!!

As always I've got pics of everything we have been up to. May take a couple of E-Mails. Don't know where we will be next week, maybe Detroit, Michigan. I guess I'll let you know in the next E-Mail.

Type at y'all later,
The Crew

My name is Shainna Nelson. I drag race a Junior Dragster named “Girl Stuff”. I’m 14 years old and have been drag racing for six years. I am a serious competitor and I am seeking sponsorship from your company. In exchange I would represent your company in high standards on and off the racetrack.
    • During my race career I have:
    • Participated in over 50 races
    • Reached the final round 12 times
    • Won eight final rounds
    • 2004 points championship winner at Knoll Gas Motor Sports Park
    • Participated in over 10 parades
    • Displayed my dragster at car shows
I am also a varsity cheerleader at Portage Central High School. My future racing plans include moving into a full size dragster, and driving on a pro circuit.

Another cold rainy day for Girl Stuff Racing
Another cold rainy day for Girl Stuff Racing. We are all waiting for the nice weather to race in. We made it to the semi finals on Saturday but just can't get everything together to find a win. We are going to probably take Memorial weekend off and do some modifications to the car. Maybe we can get a fresh start with some wins. Team Girl Stuff Racing will be headed to Joliet, Ilinois the first weekend of June for the NHRA Route 66 Nationals. Should be fun!!

    NEWS and EVENTS
Have you ever had a day where you just could do no wrong? Well, Saturday was our day. After a few red light starts in time trials, losing an air cleaner on the track at 80 mph and breaking a starter shaft, the rest of the day went flawless. Shainna started to get her reaction time back and the car was running the best it ever has. This combination brought us to the final round at 10:00 PM, a long day but this race was meant to be ours. Shainna and Jake had nearly identical reaction times but our car ran nearly perfect which gave us the win by .004 seconds !!! We almost forgot how good it feels to get into the winners circle. We'll try to repeat this next weekend when we have 2 days of racing. The season is coming to an end quickly. We only have 4 more scheduled races left, ending with the Funny Car Nationals on September 13. The summer has gone by to fast.

The excitement is building for Girl Stuff Racing. July 31 thru August 3 is the the biggest race we have had yet, 4 days of racing at the IHRA Northern Nationals at US131 Motorsports Park at Martin Michigan. Seems like we use most of our vacation days for racing each year, we must like it. A lot!!! This race will have hundreds of race teams, thousands of spectators and 10s of thousand of dollars up for grabs. I'm sure that will get the adrenaline pumping with cars ranging from Jr Dragsters to nitro burning dragsters, funny cars, jet cars and everything in between. Wish you all could be there. I know a lot of you will be there but for those who won't be we will send pictures as always. We'll give it our best shot to win but it'll be tons of fun even if we don't.
